Hare in front, hounds behind, each hop a shunt another dinner to find
A single mind in the hunt, running blind, by nose alone the hare to confront
Baying sound of a straying hound surveying ground with each preying bound
in their lair under a mound a pair of hare is laying till found
Beyond prickly bur how quickly does stir sickly rabbit fur

Thanks so much David for the read and comment as always it is deeply appreciated and valued
Never hunted except for food. So that affects me even when by nature hounds do what comes natural for game. Very effective poem. 🕊️🙏
Thanks for the read Cryptic. I too do not hunt (except for items I've lost) but know that it is part of nature's way. Your words are most appreciated my friend
