Tune: Hereford
('O thou who camest from above')
Romans 8 v.28-30
*********
We can this know, and can receive
This truth, for we can it believe
That all things work together for
Good to they that love God, 'tis sure
They who are the called ones in His
Purpose, grace upon grace in this
For whom He did foreknow, also
He did predestine them, 'tis so
Predestined to be conformed to
The image of His Son, whole, true
That Christ might be as one first-born
Among many, redemption's morn
He them predestined, called also
And justified too, we can know
And the same ones He glorified
His Spirit in hearts does reside
For whosoever will may come
And find in Christ a welcome home
Forgiven sinners, pardoned free
May live with Him eternally

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.8.8.8. with some of St Paul's teaching/doctrine. With predestiny, one view is that if Heaven has a Gate, on the inside it says 'Who enters are predestined before the world began' and on the outside it says 'Whosoever will, may come in'. Not that predestiny means we're as pre-programmed robots, as we have free will. God surely works through both - predestiny and free will.
