You may not see them often,
But they are all around.
You do not notice them
When they do something good,
Something to help others,
Without any show,
Or need for recompense.
They are people who show honour
To all, no matter who they are.
You also get those known as ‘Honourable’;
A title they have allegedly earned,
Or inherited.
Many are not honourable.
They only do things
If it is worth anything to them.
They wouldn’t pay their way
If others could be conned.
They think their title
Allows them a free passage in life
At the expense of all around them.
I may not be entitled to be known as ‘Honourable’,
But I hope that I live my life honourably.

A titile is bestowed by another with a title not by the people. A lovely write on the distinction between the honorable and the honored. Well said Andy

Thank you Norman, much appreciated.

most welcome
A good write, The Right Honourable Sir Goldfinch! There's a crude meaning to those who are given the OBE - some of them get it due to Other B*****s Efforts!
Thank you Orchi. Yes so very true.
