I feel so small, brilliance shrinks my shadow
Faded gray it dissolves amidst glory
Father of Oedipus, king your son awaits
Tall mountains fall in Colorado
Even the prime minister waits for a lorry
A sharp nail an old tire deflates
Each sun must sink in the West
Lao Tzu left for the mountain with one shoe
Christ was beaten and nailed to a cross
Feed the new let old fires rest
A rusty nail replaced by a screw
There can be no new master without an old one's loss

Bring Oedipus into the 21st century, and the social workers and Police are waiting for him.
In contrast to, Lao Tzu, who would be like, calm it it down man, have a smoke.
Screw Jesus into the cross, you still feel the pain.
Thanks so much Paul it is only by sweeping them away that they become bigger than life. I appreciate the read and comment my friend
This raises some interesting points. There can be no master without loss. Some thoughtful phrases here
Thanks so much David for the read and comment it is as always most appreciated. Yes to be bigger than history you must be past history the present does not work.

Was christ screwed to the cross ? Now that's a unique form of torture !
Thanks Lorenz they couldn't get any screws they were on back order so they had to use paper clips

Was a missionary once
Powerful poetry dear sorrenbarret I would hope there will never be another crucifixion but as time does have its own circle of sorts one could never know. I hope I never see it, we need an evolutionary hero that can make the world a better race 🌹
Thank you Teddy for the read and encouragement yes we certainly do need such an evolution.
Soren, “Even the prime minister waits for a lorry” is the line that grabbed me. It brings towering status crashing back down to ordinary reality in an instant. That contrast works beautifully throughout the poem. Wonderful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thanks so much for the read my friend and the comment that always makes my day
