Children At Croquet.

Goldfinch60

And the children came,

Came to play the game,

The game us adults enjoy

It is part of our lives.

So we showed them,

Showed the children the glory,

The glory of playing croquet.

Onto the lawns we took them

And showed them,

Showed them the beautiful game.

And they learned,

Learned how to play.

All around the lawns there was laughter,

Laughter and enjoyment,

The all enjoyed the game.

And when asked

“Will you play it again?”

Most said yes,

And they will.

But one thing pleased me,

Pleased me so much

As just before they left

After they had their drink,

Their drinks and biscuits,

One of the young lads came up to me,

He was one of the boys I showed,

Showed how to play the game.

He walked up to me

Looked deep into my eyes

And said “thank you,

Thank you very much”.

And that meant a lot to me,

Showing there is respect,

Respect in the young generation.

A fun read Gold with a sense of joy and exuberance but I loved the message of respect that is a rare commodity amongst young and old now days.
