Back To The Sixties.

Goldfinch60

What an evening’s entertainment,

I was taken back to my youth,

Back to the sixties,

The time when music changed

And here it was back.

Cliff and the Shadows were here

I knew all the songs,

And sang with them all.

I was back in my teenage years

Where my life became so wonderful.

And the tribute band took me there.

Such a wonderful evening,

An evening of fine music

And wonderful memories.

I was there in the sixties

And I remember it well,

Such great times dancing,

Dancing the night away

To some wonderful music.

So I say thank you,

Thank you to the band,

The band that took me back,

Back to that great time,

That great time in my life.

  • Comment from author about the poem: We are back on the Isle of Wight for a few days and last night there was a tribute band to Cliff Richard and the Shadows, Jimmy Jemain and the Undercover Shadows, they were terrific. The first record I bought was The Shadows, it was the first LP that they recorded in 1961 and I still have it.
