What an evening’s entertainment,
I was taken back to my youth,
Back to the sixties,
The time when music changed
And here it was back.
Cliff and the Shadows were here
I knew all the songs,
And sang with them all.
I was back in my teenage years
Where my life became so wonderful.
And the tribute band took me there.
Such a wonderful evening,
An evening of fine music
And wonderful memories.
I was there in the sixties
And I remember it well,
Such great times dancing,
Dancing the night away
To some wonderful music.
So I say thank you,
Thank you to the band,
The band that took me back,
Back to that great time,
That great time in my life.

- Comment from author about the poem: We are back on the Isle of Wight for a few days and last night there was a tribute band to Cliff Richard and the Shadows, Jimmy Jemain and the Undercover Shadows, they were terrific. The first record I bought was The Shadows, it was the first LP that they recorded in 1961 and I still have it.

A fine write Gold.
Thanks Orchi.
Back to the 60's before my time however cliff Richards was a staple entertainer in my home through film and music and he is still a legend today. I have a photo of my father in a crowd waiting to buy 1966 world cup tickets in Sheffield, the 60's sure were different to today. 💜 Enjoy your time on your very own love island my dear Andy and Mary
Thank yoi for your great words Teddy, very much apprecated.

A good set of memories Andy I have the most peaceful memories of childhood in the 50's and adolescence in the 60's with music from that era always close to my heart.
Yes I am the same soren, thank you.
Andy
You are most welcome Andy
I hope you're flying. Seafaring is not really good for the balance. But perhaps that's just me. See you when you get back🙏🕊️
Just 40 minutes on the ferry, no problem, we have been on it many times and all has been well.
Andy
Fine words! Nicely done.
