and I would stay

arqios

If dawn returned to these mountains,
     cold stone could breathe,
its winding paths might lift a small song.
Then our hearth would come into view,
                              —and I would stay.

This is a wonderful poetic piece Cryptic it warms the heart and provides a sunray of hope where all had been darkness and cold hard rock. Metaphoric yet vivid in image it speaks loudly of a coming new day. Very nice my friend and a fave

Arqios, what a beautiful little poem. In just a handful of lines you move from longing, to possibility, to belonging. By the time I reached, "and I would stay," it felt less like a destination than a quiet resolution of the heart. Beautiful work, my friend. ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›

For that the oriental literary forms and thought process have been quite helpful as well as the western short form. Much appreciated dear friend๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Thereโ€™s a quiet restraint in thisโ€”like the poem is holding its breath right up until that final promise.
The shift from landscape to โ€œI would stayโ€ gives it a gentle emotional weight that lands without needing force.
