IF I WAS

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

If I was
To dream no more
Alone upon
A distant shore
In isolation
Love to weep
Between the echo
Of my sleep.

If I was
To think of you
Observing still
The sea of blue
The seabirds
In frantic flight
Fearful of
Approaching night.

If I was
To close my eyes
Picture again
Happier times
The tender moments
Now flown away
Leaving sadness
In a lonely day.
