Kinda, sorta, like her.

Aa Harvey

Kinda, Sorta, Like Her.

She’s an artist you see?

That’s why I kinda sorta like her.

Maybe she’s like me.

Maybe this is going nowhere.

If I discovered a little more about the things she likes to paint,

Maybe we could be a creation in the making.

She doesn’t seem like the type that would have the time,

To be happy at home in the kitchen baking.

She’d rather dive into a picture she finds stuck inside her mind.

She’s kinda sorta beautiful and she gives me her eyes.

I am surely unworthy,

But she smiles right at me.

Truly the truth is I’m too old for her,

But let me have a little dream,

Before the page is burned.

I need a true muse to amuse with little kitties.

I hope she likes kittens,

Because I don’t want a dog, or a bird, or a frog;

But our little family could start with a couple of kitties.

I’m too old to be a donor,

But if I meet someone pretty,

Maybe,

Somehow,

I could kinda sorta love her.

And who knows...

Maybe one day she could kinda sorta love me too.

Cute but it cuts at the heart of dreams and whimsical thought where one wishes to be young and attractive to draw the attention and desire of the desirable but knows that they are just fantasies that can not be. But just maybe they could be. Written in such a lovely playful style it is charming. It is much different than the typical poem and for this caught my attention and a fave

    nicely written
