Sonnet For Frances Rosemary's Baptism.

Goldfinch60

Today the waters bless your gentle name,
Dear Frances Rosemary, beloved and bright;
A holy hush attends the sacred flame,
And heaven leans nearer in its tender light.

With drops of grace upon your infant brow,
The church receives you in a joy made new;
Love speaks its ancient, faithful promise now,
And sets a path of peace in front of you.

May kindness be the garment that you wear,
May wisdom be the lantern by your way;
May God’s own mercy keep you in His care,
And fill your heart with song from day to day.

So grow in faith, in wonder, and in grace,
Held close by love in every time and place.

    Very heartfelt and the rhythm is out of this world! I hope one day you'll share this with her!

      Thank you Alex. I am going to give the poem to her parents today.

      Let's hope the service fulfills these sentiments, not as some infant baptisms, held apart from main Service, and turn into a pantomime, just so baby is 'done'. Then you never seen the family again. Well, maybe at Easter and Ch..... (not now Orchi, not the Ch word. lol). Had to stop myself there. lol.

        It was a good service Orchi.
