TEARS REMAIN

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

To a night
With starry eyes
That envelopes
The darkening skies
The lights of town
So brightly stare
Traffic streams
Through sweeping air.

The distant sound
Of goodbye fading
The tall trees
Slowly swaying
Leaves that twist
In twirling flight
Arms outstretched
To embrace this night.

Your tears remain
To guide the way
Each word it signs
On coming day
The hours salute
In rigid line
Do not worry
We will be fine.

The rhyme carries the reader along through this journey and reassures them that the next line and event in time will be fine. Nicely done

Yes, tears remain as we wait for that bus - it makes us despair! lol.

So true Norman, we will be fine.

Norman, this really moved me. There is such a gentle reassurance running through it from beginning to end. Even with the sadness present, I walked away feeling comforted rather than weighed down. Beautiful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
