TEARS REMAIN

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

To a night
With starry eyes
That envelopes
The darkening skies
The lights of town
So brightly stare
Traffic streams
Through sweeping air.

The distant sound
Of goodbye fading
The tall trees
Slowly swaying
Leaves that twist
In twirling flight
Arms outstretched
To embrace this night.

Your tears remain
To guide the way
Each word it signs
On coming day
The hours salute
In rigid line
Do not worry
We will be fine.
