My words were cast
To Januarys rain
Upon the wind
I bore the blame
The phrase I threw
Was without friends
Free of sympathy
Until time ends.
Alone within
The shaken night
Head bowed below
A misty streetlight
A heartbeat that
Recoiled in pain
A timeless kiss
Leaves its stain.
But slowly now
Each step retraced
A wounded man
Memories embraced
To fight each thought
Bitterness refrained
Upon Januarys night
The falling rain.

Very nicely rhymed in a metered cadence that pulls the reader along it has a melancholy feel. Well written a fave
too kind, thanking you my friend, always much appreciated comments
You are most welcome Norman
Norman, this really moved me. That image of a timeless kiss leaving its stain lingers, and the choice to retrace those steps without surrendering to bitterness gives the ending a quiet strength. Beautifully done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
many thanks as always my friend, much appreciated
Yes - you've lost any sympathy you had for 'excuses' of why that bus has still not turned up! lol.
