The pen approaches the paper
And words appear on the page.
What shall it write today?
Words of wisdom,
So profound,
That thought is needed,
To understand them?
Words of passion,
Showing the love,
Bestowed upon loved ones.
The glory of nature,
Abounding in this world,
There to be seen,
If only people look.
Words of anger,
At the ills in this world,
This world being destroyed,
By blinkered people.
Words of joy,
Showing the laughter,
That can be had,
Through the tears.
As the words end,
I read through them,
To see what they mean.
I haven’t a clue!
I never could read my own writing!

The journey from " words of wisdom " to "I never could read my own writing " is perfect. Witty, self- aware, and so true for most of us. Loved it.
Thank you Salvia, much appreciated.
