On Love

Teddy.15

He turned to me

and in his sweet soft voice

said,

speak to me of love,

and so I raised my head

and my shoulders and I did…

Me,

if one is not willing to fight for ones’ love

then love is lost

when the tongue be stubborn in silence

even though the heart

be full of warmth wants to speak

love is lost

If one feels alone

even though one is in love,

that love is lost.

    a fine write

Love needs company is what I hear in this poem and so it is even love of oneself needs recognition of itself as company. In this recognition comes respect and support. Nicely written my friend.

Thank you dear sorrenbarret, your take on this is lovely, if one is not willing to fight then what is it in the first place? Sometimes we love too much and it's one sided so yes therein needs the company of the other half, if the other half of this love isn't there well then it's wasted 🌹

        My pleasure my friend

Love the car, love the woman.
The car can take you places, though the woman can take you places too.
Tough one this, and even the car is nodding in agreement.

Dearest Teddy, this really touched my heart. There's a quiet wisdom here that feels earned rather than merely spoken. Love asks something of us, and you've expressed that beautifully. Wonderful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thank you dearest Tristan, hey, happy 4th of July for tomorrow my dear friend. May you stay in company that you love. 🌹

Very insightful. "If one feels alone" when it should be feeling like half of a whole entity, when two become one. Silence can break a relationship. one must speak often of their love. One must be willing to die for one's love. A love filled poem that defines its essence. Wonderful. - Phil A.

My dear Phil, you have read the absolute soul of this poem, thank you dear friend. 🌹

Teddy, my sincere apologies for the delayed comment…I’m in the midst of moving, but I’m so glad I finally got to comment on this. I love how you show that love isn’t just something we feel…it’s something we choose to express, even when it’s difficult. Otherwise, as you so poignantly put it, love can be lost. Beautiful work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

You already commented on this one 🤣 but two reviews warms my heart, thank you my dear Tristan 🌹

Sweet Teddy, There’s a quiet, confessional weight in this—like the speaker is answering a question they’ve carried for a long time.
The repetition of “love is lost” lands like a verdict, but the softness in the setup keeps it human rather than final.

Thank you my dear Thomas 💜

Yes it is always better to speak up what is in the heart than lose the beloved for lack of courage 🤔👌
