Until
Until the stars above come crashing down.
Until AI takes over and we’re crushed into the ground.
Until the end of time and the lights go out,
I’ll be stood here waiting for you...have no doubt.
Until the fires rage across the skies.
Until we’re all wiped out by a meteorite.
Until the aliens show us they have already arrived,
I’ll be stood here waiting for you, for all time.
Until I cannot hear.
Until I am blinded by your smile.
Until I cannot say my dear, I’ll wait here a while.
Until I become dust, and fade and rust,
I’ll be stood here waiting for you, even if you miss the last bus.
Until the flickering ambers in my dying eyes.
Until the last heart beat.
Until the final night.
Until the very end of my single life,
I’ll be waiting here for you,
Until you arrive.

There is a finality in the word stood that leaves the reader feeling that it is in place and decided already. A pilon driven in the sand to withstand the tide and waves. Nicely done
Thank you.
Most welcome
