A dangerous drug.

Aa Harvey

A dangerous drug.

Why are they all flawed?

Not one. I mean them all.

Every time I meet a woman I want,

I find a reason why she just isn’t the one.

Sure I have certain standards.

I know what I need.

I leave myself so angered,

Because she fails to be,

The perfect one.

The serious fun.

The golden sun.

I should just be done,

But I keep carrying on,

Falling into their eyes.

She will lie.

She can’t be mine.

She will say something,

And all will be lost!

I’ve had enough of whoever wrote this plot.

Why can’t I just accept,

That they are reasons I should just deal with?

Because every reason is a danger line which I cannot cross.

Why can’t I just ask her for a kiss?

Because she carries a dagger for my heart,

And I can’t afford that loss.

I want a permanent, forever love.

So keep your words,

They are just a dangerous drug.

Finding a mate in times that have become continuously more self-centered becomes more and more difficult for relationships require compromises and compromises have become seen as less and less acceptable. Nicely written
