TO A MOMENT

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

Epitaph to a moment
An anchor broke loose
On the dream of the lost
Emotions aloof
As a spark from the fire
That melts into night
And a darkness evades
The fear of fright.

Strangers on pathways
Deep phrases forgot
Before pen to paper
To eternity lost
Following in footprints
Stamped by past time
The shiver of ghosts
That run down your spine.

In ditches that lay
To sides of the lane
A deep lonely walk
Inside youre alone
The moist earth to breathe
Grass wheezes beneath
Yourself in a dream
Where memories sleep.

The feel makes me agree on the impermanence of moments and the impossibility of preserving them completely. 🕊️🙏

Norman, what a haunting piece. That opening image of the broken anchor immediately pulled me in, and from there it felt like wandering through forgotten paths where memory and dream quietly overlap. There's a gentle melancholy here that lingered with me long after I finished reading. Beautifully done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

A dreamy write. Hidden in self consciousness. Dreams teach us things about the future. Well written.
