THE FADED BEAUTY ( TO M )

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

You so often used
Your natural beauty
To deceive
And earthly gain
But years became
Your bitter enemy
Lines and wrinkles
Upon your face.

Your cruel heart
And selfish ways
Now much stronger
Can never change
The bitterness of soul
Is living still
A lack of sympathy
Eyes instill.

Now as we
Our time grows old
These simple words
The truth unfolds
Blonde and beautiful
Many years before
As the book is closed
Where do you go ?
