Etched on stone by a finger of bone a manufactures instructions on what we are able 
Time has worn it away a polished side marble top on display, past scratches considered a fable

              It is true that the old testament is a compilation of ancient Sumerian legends .

                Your use of the word “tablet” layers multiple meanings into a single image, suggesting that every era has its own tablet carrying instructions.

                Similarly, “a finger of bone” suggests a mortal hand. Though the author is long dead, the message survives, as if time itself were the true author of the warning. It also implies that mortal beings can create messages that outlast their makers.

                These subtleties are truly impressive.

                      Soren, I love the way you compress big ideas into such economical language. The metaphor of commandments becoming a polished tabletop says so much without ever needing to explain itself...what once instructed now risks becoming little more than furniture.
