Bouquet

sorenbarrett

A rose that passion shows, given to a lover
Love grows a cut flower to propose, cupid does hover
A wedding shows bouquets in rows, vows read
With time's doze a heart froze the smell of cut flowers dead

Good write SB. The time has dozed with me and KP. It was never awake anyway, for any passion! lol.

Such a strong metaphor to convey the changing meaning of love through the changing symbolism of the rose. This is the story of many romances that fade over time.

To my estimation a cut rose has less a chance, all things considered, than one that stays as nature intended attached to its vine. And the metaphor works splendid in intimate human relations. 🙏🕊️

Apt for a quite normal marriage 🤣 with all the ugliness in-between sometimes we forget to keep loves sparks alive! Super write 🌹

Soren, this hit hard...an entire relationship blooming and dying in four lines. Beautifully tragic, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Love how you thread romance through decay—those cut flowers feel like vows that knew their own ending.
There’s a quiet sting here, like beauty remembering it was always on borrowed time.

                          • sorenbarrett
