Looking down
Teetering
A pause
Tottering
The crest before the trough
That point between
Before the balance of the pendulum turns over
A silent moment in the eye of a hurricane.

Thank you Cryptic yes as a child I loved such rides for the thrills but now with fragile bones I prefer to keep my feet on the ground. I appreciate your review my friend and your support.
My damn autistic perspective is more inspired by the menacing tornado about to strike than the deep metaphor ...Really sorry !
Thanks Lorenz that is the point indeed In the center of it all there is peace. Trouble is that half has already passed over and half is still to come and when it does that wind changes directions.
Actually that required a lot of metaphorical thinking.
Thanks my friend but time for reflection is before or after the storm the rest is hot air.
The eye, the only part of the hurricane that's calm.
Seems sort of strange with such a destructive force.
A bit like Trump when he's sleeping.
Thanks Paul I do appreciate the support and read. You mean permanently sleeping?

Good Write.

Soren, this is one heck of a poem. The tension builds quietly and leaves me holding my breath...waiting for the inevitable shift. Brilliantly done, my friend! πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
I thank you my friend for the read and most kind and generous words they are appreciated
A powerful image of suspended tension.

Thatβs the trickiest part and the most challenging. Well represented π
Thanks for the read Nafisa your words are most appreciated
Relational open verse, done the right way. Too many toss a word salad onto the page. It must be evocative. Joseph Conrad once said "Art carries its justification in every line."
Thank you Rhan for the review and kind words of support they are most appreciated and valued
Wonderfully simple, yet profound.
Thank you Megan for the read and comment it means a lot
Cool...I'm an old fisherman and take it literally
