The train home
Not my shadows, not my grey
not my graffiti, not my spray
not my concrete, not my crowds
not my rain and not my clouds
Not my buildings, not my streets
not my washing, not my sheets
not my dogs and not my cats
not my crows and not my bats
Not my bridges, not my spars
not my theatres, not my bars
not my shops and not my lights
not my place to spend the night.
Here is where the light turns green
here the ever changing scene
here the meadows, here the fields
here the stress begins to yield
Here the rivers, here the trees
here the birds sing just to please
here the lovers walk the lanes
here the simple life is plain
Here my friendships, here my vows
here my sheep and here my cows
here my castle scrapes the sky
here my life stops rushing by.
Here my sunset, hear my sighs:
here are my boundaries, here is my prize.

Here seems to be the place it has it all. Nicely done the meter feels like a train moving down the tracks
Glad you caught the tune, and I much appreciate your comment, thank you.
You are most welcome
The rural idyll after the big smoke. Enjoyed the train ride very much; grateful for the industry and mechanisation which created it - though I doubt the folks which witnessed its introduction felt the same way.
Good journey; thanks for the write.
Thanks for joining me Dave!
An excellent prize indeed. Brought me back to the film βbus heroβ that although is in a different register was big on the journey and its reward and compelling nature. ππ»ποΈ
Most grateful for your company on the train, thanks!

Absolutely gorgeous. Oh how I love it! How you managed to cull the countryside in a twinkling yet so very beautifully, I dunno. But the emphasis is clear, the contrast stark and striking, the refreshment lively and too real. Thank you so very much for sharing.
Thank you indeed for such a lovely response!
