Busy bodies I really dislike
they come in my house
don’t care if its night
the curtains twitch
they know I’m home
they come to find a scandal to own
neighbours who just want bad news
nosey people, who blow my fuse
why they can’t just leave me be?
my private life is owned to me?
when the gossips not much cop
they try to seek my dirty mop
the dirt is scarce, can’t be seen
they’ll do anything to hear
something mean
the roll of my eyes, you’d think at least
a hint to tell them, my life is clean?
but even then they will not leave
I’ll think of something most obscene?
to show them that, I’m not a gossip
but just for them I’ll let them mop it
my story shocks and off they run
back to the empty house they own
the morning after, I leave for work
police are waiting,
in a hearse
they shout “come on I know where he is”
my face now worried “oh dear”
what do they think?
they take me to a deserted lake
hoping to find my husband Jake.

A satirical poem of people that find it necessary to poke their nose into everyone's business, to stir the pot and fan the flames. A good read my friend that paints reality in absurdities. Nicely done Teddy
I suspect we all live within some sort of nosey neighbourness so I'm taking my opportunity to shock them. LoL π€£ thank you my dear sorrenbarret πΉπ
Most welcome Teddy
lol seems like we have the same problems, I wish people would buy my poetry if they really wanted to get a glimpse into me⦠sigh nonetheless great poem and it took a turn at the end I was not expecting; ok now I see why your neighbors are asking questions LOL
lol I'm giving them what they want π€£
the nosey neighbours, we all have them, good write
I suspect mine are the worst lol thank you dear Norman. πΉ
always most welcome
Tremendous, sweet Teddy. This poem has a lively, mischievous voice, turning everyday frustration with gossip and nosiness into a darkly humorous twist. I enjoyed the playful storytelling and the unexpected ending, which gives the piece a memorable bite.
Mischief indeed, they didn't find him though! π€£
Teddy, this took one hell of a dark turn! What begins as comic irritation suddenly becomes something far more sinister...and that final revelation is wickedly effective. Loved it, my friend! πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
lol π€£ thank you dearest Tristan πΉ
Nosiness is a problem indeed and such neighbors who pet into your life and comment on each and every thing really test your patience. You have described it perfectly ππ±
But of course no husbands were really hurt, in the making of this poem π€£ neighbours love gossip, sometimes I give them something to eat lol π
Yes give them food for their wicked thoughts ππ
