Mirrors

Tristan Robert Lange

Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Life is full of seasons. This is a season of transition for me, where I will be moving with my family to a new location. As such, with much logistics to consider, I am doing my best to keep up. Please know if I accidentally don't respond, it is not because I am ghosting or becoming distant. Once things settle after the move, I am sure life will return to some normalcy. In the meantime, and always:

Read 👓, Write ✍️, Rise 🌅, Realize 🤯.

Tristan 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

A sandy beach,
Waves crashing ashore.
Foam settling in
And sticking to the gull's down.
Then erosion and a method of recycling.
The moon casts its reflection
On the pale body floating
On the liquid sheets.
A vivid dream of intercourse,
Then of the milk of life,
And raised nipples surrounded by the areola.
And this all happens around
The time of a child's birth.
The prodigal daughter
With the eyes of an enchantress,
The eyes of illusion,
And the power to walk through mirrors
To the other side.
She grows to be an enchanting seductress,
And has slept with
The rich man who has caused my pain,
And my agonizing death.

There is that intimate power which can be abused and weaponised, the betrayal from which transforms ruinously from careless wielding 🕊️🙏🏻

Thank you so much, Arqios! Nearly thirty years later, I cannot reconstruct the poem’s entire inner map...but you have found a compelling path through it. Something beautiful has unmistakably curdled into destruction. Deeply appreciated, my friend! 🪞🌕🖤🙏

a deep probing piece my friend

      • Tristan Robert Lange

Thank you so much, Norman! Revisiting this strange creation by my younger self has been fascinating...especially since some of its mysteries remain intact even for me. Deeply appreciated, my friend! 🪞🌕🖤🙏

          always welcome, enjoyed read

I went through the mirror go looking for pain and never came back ...I'm writing to you from there ...

          • Tristan Robert Lange

Damn, Lorenz! Apparently, my younger self opened a portal that remains active nearly thirty years later. Since neither of us knows the way out, I suppose we should make ourselves comfortable. 🤣🪞🌕🖤🙏

This is a sensually sad poem that bleeds on the page. Those mirrors are reflections of passion good or bad. Where a siren comes from the sea to enchant and then drown the living. Well written my friend and a definite fave

Thank you so much, Soren! Nearly thirty years later, this strange creation still carries an intensity that surprises me. I may not remember its entire origin, but I recognize the younger Tristan who understood desire as both irresistible and dangerous. Deeply appreciated, my friend! 🪞🌕🖤🙏

Good write T. I wrote something from 1998 - a blank page, as I hadn't done any poems then - or hardly any. lol. I could have written more on the antics of Popeye & Co. lol.

🤣🤣🤣 Orchi, while I was wandering through surreal dimensions, Olive Oyl was evidently stealing your unpublished masterpieces. Nearly thirty years later, literary history may never recover! Much appreciated, my friend! 🪞🌕🖤🙏

Noooo, Popeye, don't lend us a mirror so we can see your antics. Why not, he asks us? WCAT!!
