Our town.
The beast within is searching for sin.
In the darkest night it is found.
The war within is a constant thing.
It challenges endlessly. We are its battleground.
The man in the mask is a voodoo preacher.
He’s here to teach us to vanish in laughter.
Where bodies are found there is ash on the ground.
Spontaneous death all around.
They locked him away with all his demons.
Now he rages outside after fighting for his freedom,
And the bodies he left in his wake, are no longer awake,
And they cannot be saved for they are the forsaken.
His hate has awakened
And no sheriff will find a way to bring him to justice.
Guilty is the verdict, but nobody can enforce it.
The FBI question the wife.
She tells a tale of their love-life,
And all the low-lights are a torrid story.
She lives her life in perpetual worry.
The war at home that goes unseen,
Until one day his name is on the TV.
Only she knows of his rage.
The days she’d say “Are you ok?”
Lately this world, his view, is meat on the floor,
Surrounded by flies.
He feels alive in the midnight.
Death is knocking on your door...
Do you dare to answer?
