The pain her face refused to show
Fed Loneliness and watched it grow
The tears she vowed would never flow
Are falling from her eye
The kids are not sure what to do
As mummy necks another blue
Her defects heading up the queue
To surf upon her sigh
She holds her baby close and says
I promise we'll see better days
When showering him with love and praise
It puts her on a high
Her child smiles her heart dissolves
Life sometimes hits the skids or stalls
With you in tow we'll walk through walls
And touch the burning sky
A stranger heard her secret scream
So tried to re engage her dream
Come with me now let off some steam
Til finally we fly

It's my pleasure Peto
Well written, my friend. Your poem explores the struggles of a mother dealing with emotional pain and loneliness while trying to maintain hope for a better future for her child. You highlight the internal battles faced by individuals in distress and the importance of love and connection as a means of overcoming hardship.
Thank you very much friendship
I truly appreciate you reading and taking time to comment
It is strange, but how many kids bring up adults out there, more than you think.
We can all say, unfit mother, but that's never the real story.
Some just can't catch a break in this life, and that's the real truth.
I believe every word of your truth paul
Thank you very much
A brilliant poem peto 👏
My mother had her own struggles but mainly alcohol, not valium. Quite a relatable read. My favourite stanza beow.
"The kids are not sure what to do
As mummy necks another blue
Her defects heading up the queue
To surf upon her sigh"

Cheers syd
Wasn't sure if the "necks another blue" line would make sense to everyone
Delighted you picked up on it
Extremely grateful as always
It made perfect sense to me mate. I used to get called The Wobfather at one point because of my own habits. Wobs = Wobbley eggs / legs = Blues / Valium.
Cheers
