Fly
The life of a fly is very short,
So remember when you trap them inside your doors,
They are not here to harm you,
They are searching for escape.
Do not make the mistake of thinking they have ruined your day.
They don’t want to die inside your home.
They are flies,
Let them fly,
Right out of your window.

What a wonderful metaphor. It takes the undesired and most loathsome creature (and so are some people or events) and treats it with compassion and understanding (as we should those things that annoy us) and simply asks that we free them. Our encounter with such annoyances are brief and better to let them go than dwell upon them or even try to destroy them. Very nicely presented in so few words. Loved it a fave

True story, I had a fly in my house and sprayed it with fly killer spray and it didn't die until two days later. It randomly appeared occasionally.
I wrote this poem in 5 minutes while I was waiting to go to work, so I'm pleased it had such a response.
