Today what is in fashion is passion, love is on ration with a shortage on compassion
Marketed sex with people sold as objects reflects valuing only what they have on their decks
The gold in their hold never extolled pleasure served hot soon turns cold and growing old does mold
In a throw away world the shiny seductive is unfurled but it tarnishes and to the garbage is hurled

A powerful critique of a culture that often confuses passion and physical attraction with genuine love and compassion. I like especially the comparison between the way people and relationships can be treated as commodities and the way disposable consumer goods are valued, used, and eventually discarded.
