A phone call

applecherry

You call,

Without intention,

For connection.

I answer and enquire.

I hear the pain in your voice,

But you don’t reveal anything.

Your words are neutral

Only understood as hurt,

if you’re looking,

I am looking,

I have always looked for you.

You taught me to,

To guess the meaning in between the words you say,

And don’t say.

I hear the pain in your voice,

But I can’t save you.

You don’t want to be saved,

You don’t know how to saved,

But I wish I could save you.

I would try,

If that means anything.
