THE DAWN OF DAY

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

Do not allow
The shadows fall
Upon the fleeting
Glimpse of dawn
Its golden echo
Its smiling face
Givng birth to life
Its scented grace.

Each flower dances
In wild delight
Upon the breeze
Farewell to night
The tall trees
Arms outstretched
Leaves to sparkle
Sunlight etched.

A new face now
To natures breast
A loving mother
Its secret kept
Wrapped within
The eternal turn
Of each season
Its love to burn.

Simply lovely this poem literal and metaphorical dazzles the ear and imagination. The breaking dawn and the promise that it holds of a new day a new beginning. Very nicely imaged with rhyme as well. A lovely write and a fave

Wow, what a beautiful poem, Norman. This carries such an easy sense of peace, renewal, and wonder…the whole natural world feels alive and welcoming. It brought me right into that quiet magic of a fresh morning. Beautifully done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
