Rain

Jabberwocky

My poems reached a level
My mood could not sustain,
When peace it came upon me
Like gently falling rain
And washed away your sin
So nothing does remain.
Except a soundless calling
And the memory of pain.

To forgive but not forget comes to mind with this poem. Pain may remain but anger is gone. Well written

Thanks for your comment, and your previous ones.
I don't always have the time to have the good manners my youth taught me. Thanks again.

There’s something tender and damn sad about reaching peace in the poem while your own mood can’t quite follow you there. I like how the rain washes everything clean, yet somehow leaves the memory of pain behind.

My friend, I know the strange fear that peace might quiet the very darkness that once fed the poetry. This captures that tension beautifully. Great work, Jabberwocky. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thanks for your kind comments. There are few things more sustaining than the kindnesses of strangers.
Good luck with your move and your new home.
