Wearing only
sunscreen and a smile
I stand at the water’s edge;
I feel my burdens and cares
drift away beneath the salty surface.
Warmed by the sun,
I venture forth into the cool ocean waves
and, first time in a long time
I tread water instead of carefully.

A poem of disinhibition and freedom very nicely written
Thanks!
You are most welcome Franz
What a freeing piece, Fränz. The humor and vulnerability draw us in, while the ocean carries away everything heavy and guarded. Even the wordplay embodies that release from living too cautiously. Beautifully done, my friend. A fave for sure. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thank you!
