A Familiar Weight

– NoeticNonsense

Sometimes, it's accompanied

by an ache that knows no depth.

A longing that can never

be met, a pang of sorrow

that tucks you into bed

and greets you in the morning.

Lanterns light the path,

burning with invariable melancholy.
