For Dolly.

Goldfinch60

Now her last sweet song has faded,
And the spotlight softly dims,
May the mountains hold her gently,
May the angels sing her hymns.

She gave the world her laughter,
Her courage, grace, and art,
A voice like morning sunlight,
A kind and open heart.

Though her earthly roads have ended this day,
Love carries every tune;
Her songs will bloom in valley fields,
Beneath the silver moon.

So let the guitars whisper low,
And every tear be bright;
For Dolly’s light, so freely shared,
Will never leave the night.

  • Comment from author about the poem: RIP Dolly Parton, a wonderful singer and respected lady who helped so many people especially helping children the read. "By her example, we believed that anything is possible. She never saw a door she couldn’t open, and the doors she opened made and changed history."

    The best country musician ever to walk on earth in my humble opinion she will be missed forever, also as an actress she was full to the rim with talent. ❤️
