From beneath a boulder's womb is born a spring, clean bubbling life nature did bring
Flowing forth it touched hard ground, making a gurgling sound, in its cradle a growing pool did abound
As it grew it crawled now a stream, learning to run as a creek with a dream
Mud and dirt it took down hill to spill murky waters into a pond to fill
From a spillway its waters flowed, joined with discharge from a nearby commode
Passing society with a variety of factories, it became a river of notoriety
Not for beauty but for smell, even the thirsty it did repel
In its journey to the sea it had turned dirty

Can stand in for life’s innocence to fulfilment or corruption, or of interpersonal relationships like friendship, love, or associative collaboration even. 🙏🏻🕊️
Thank you Cryptic yes either will work just fine. I appreciate the read and comment my friend
Most welcome, Soren 👍🏻🕊️
good write friend, much enjoyed
Thanks Norman I appreciate the read and kind words
always welcome
Well said. Your poem traces the life cycle of a water source, from a clean spring to a polluted river, symbolizing nature’s broader degradation from societal neglect and pollution. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Friendship for your read and interpretation as well as comment they are all most appreciated
There’s a damn effective life metaphor here, watching pristine spring water become polluted as it passes through human civilization. The final turn is simple but bitter—the river didn’t choose to become dirty; everything it encountered along the way left its mark.
Once again so true Thomas. Thank you for the read and comment my friend. Yes everything dirties one through life.
A beautiful reminder that nature may begin with purity, but what we pour into it becomes its story.
Thank you Soheil for your read and understanding it is most appreciated
You are welcome. It is always my pleasure to read your nice poems.
Too kind
Good write SB. It turned a bit sh....umthing! An old Carry On film joke there. lol.
Thanks my friend thought that you might use some of the factory discharge as a recipe idea. Appreciate the read Orchi
I fine Poem on how we can screw-up something as Pure and so important as Water.
A fave.
Thank you Kevin for the read and comment. It is appreciated my friend
My Pleasure.
Amazing how pure water running past factories somehow get polluted.
Water companies in Britain are notorious for discharging sewage into rivers killing fish.
All down to profit, no one ever gets charged, brutal.
Thanks for the read my friend yes that is capitalism at its best.
Beautiful write. Like so many things in the world today. Something starts out good and ends up bad. Very nice.
Thanks so much for the read and comment it is most appreciated
A wonderful write SB. Even in this modern world, with all its scientific knowledge we somehow can't accomplish the simple task of keeping nature pure of our waste. Why do we not have treatment facilities to clean the water supply. We pollute the rivers, lakes, and oceans knowingly. Yet, nothing is done. God save us!
Thank you so much for the read and comment. Yes indeed pollution is a problem from natural resources to people themselves and even nations and governments.
What a strong piece, my friend. You take the life of a creek and turn it into something almost tragic…clean at the beginning, then gradually burdened by everything poured into it along the way. Powerful work, Soren. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thanks so much Tristan your review and interpretation is highly valued my friend
