Beautiful to her.
These little blues wires from my fingers to my toes,
Sending bat signals from my skull to my bones,
And every firing neuron is a nuclear explosion.
My hands are numb,
My mouth is dumb,
I’m seizing up with corrosion.
There’s an ocean of thoughts,
I’ve got to transfer to my books,
Because with a little luck you could find them,
And maybe take a look.
If you pay me no mind, then nevermind.
I’ll still be in bloom when all turns to grey,
And as I fade away, I’ll leave a legacy of words,
Because without these perplexing ears,
I would never have been heard.
I think you may see clearly,
If I lift up my shirt.
I ain’t as young as I once was...
But I’m still beautiful for her.
