The sects are out there,
Out there to control people.
There are Buddhists, Christians,
The are Hindus and Sikhs.
So many controlling religions,
But deeply spiritual people have no religion,
They do not belong to any sects.
They do have a religion though,
They have the religion of a good heart,
As do I.

- Comment from author about the poem: When my wife was dying from dementia where was that christian god, she had followed christianity all her long life but it was not there in her passing days. I eventually came to the conclusion that organised religion was a farce. I still believe in god but not in organised religion.

Good write Gold. It sounds bigoted and exclusive maybe, but I would say I go under the Christian 'label'. I don't think much about denominations though. I prefer 'spiritual' rather than 'religion' in my non-nutty poems.

Religion an institution with government and need for money, spirituality comes from within and has no need of money. Nicely written Andy
