The most gentle souls
Have flown away
Upon the wings
Of a dying day
The gentle quiet
Of moving clouds
Gone the bustle
Of daytime sounds.
The garden arch
Upon which roses cling
Claims the song
The last birds sing
The twilight grasps
The falling night
With softened fingers
In pure delight.
A darkening veil
To lay upon
The fading moments
Hours gone
Night time wraps
A warming shawl
About itself
To keep warm.

Most picturesque and lovely, this poem is also metaphoric and for me depicts the ending that could be of life itself or of loss. Nicely done my friend.
many thanks and much appreciation friend
My pleasure
Beauty can be the gateway or threshold of the moment of departure while twilight softens grief. The night them wraps the world in an embrace of acceptance. All in all keeping our dignity. zππ»ποΈ

Norman, this is beautiful. Thereβs such peace in the way the day closes here...soft, reflective, and almost sacred in its stillness. Wonderful write, my friend. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
