Wouldn't You Like to Know?

Cheeky Missy

"I'm fine, I'm fine!"

Said the drunkard at nine

When he drove his car into a pole.

Well, they found him dead,

Where the last words he said

Were "I'm fine!"

Or that's what I'm told.

Missy, this is darkly clever. It starts almost like a joke and then drops straight into consequence...a sharp reminder of how dangerous self-deception can become. Strong write. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

It came literally out of nowhere, likely owing to my assuring myself that despite the odds "I'm fine," [besides that, I've written and finished too many sonnets in the past several hours.] Thank you very much.

A lively limerick that is fun and fanciful. Glad to see you back.
