Newstory

Aa Harvey

Newstory

Living through this endless war.

Throw away your shields and swords.

Who are we to expect more?

We live, we die, forever we fall.

If we could become anything,

Then robotic eyes would help us see,

The future is bleak. We should never revel,

Within the pain and suffering.

The days are long. The nights so cold.

Are we so bold that we can hold,

A candle to the gales that blow,

Destruction through our screaming souls.

Heavens arms are welcoming us all,

Through endless doors, in endless corridors.

The Hotel Californ beckons us forth,

To come explore what they have instore.

The God’s await our final fate.

Our end of days is through pearly gates.

Our pearl harbour is no safe harbour,

To lost souls with no guide or way of escape.

So here we stand, a little man,

In a great big world of great big masterplan’s.

And we with little thoughts, we barely understand.

We come in peace, unarmed, never given a chance.

There sits a boy, in a room of toys.

He’s been raised to enjoy the solitary noise,

He makes alone, he lives alone,

He has no clone, he has no phone.

A story is being written.

It started as scribbled on crayon,

On the ceilings and the walls and corridors.

The house so full of teenage murals.

Graffiti speaks like poetry.

A life less than ordinary is he.

Then out the doors and through the windows,

His shadow flows through unaware folk,

Living their ordinary lives,

Telling ordinary jokes.

Never a truth told between them.

They hide their souls.

And still the spirit climbs higher than the Heaven’s.

Every angle covered, every land, every beginning, middle and end.

Every part of life itself is closely examined,

And so it began...and so it shall again...
