A penny for your...
If ever there was a time for an ‘Us.”
That time has come upon us now.
However it comes to dawn on us,
I know we’ll make it ‘Love’ somehow.
And if we fail, at least we tried.
I tried to be with you every night,
But some of these times, I’m not online.
I’ve lost the call, to tell you all...
...that you’ll find me, at the end of the street.
Bag on my shoulder, ready to leave.
So if you wish, that we could kiss,
Come find me here, on this here street.
As new day dawns and the sun comes up,
I’ll be here hoping that I’m channeling love;
Because I can’t just, simply say,
I want us each to find our own way.
From deep inside, I can only write.
My mouth, my muse, is mute, this time.
Were I to speak, I think I’d break.
The pain too much to bear today.
No paracetamol can cure this ache.
My heart is weak. No faith left to pray.
I had love once when I was young.
Now I am older, could it be found once more?...
...I do not know. I truly care.
I only wish from down here in my despair,
For you’re not here inside my hand.
I simply need your love, for this simple man.
I have no wealth to buy your love.
I have no hope to wish me luck.
I have no gall, to want it all.
I have only love to give to those who are poor.
For Love is my currency. Your desire is cash.
I wish you well. A penny per chance?
I throw it away to the well so deep...
Goodbye my penance...
...A penny for thee...
