Even by My River I see it,
The beauty of nature
Despoiled by the rubbish
That others discard.
It lays by My River’s side,
Or worse floats in it!
Why are people so uncaring
For the beauty of nature
That surrounds them.
This society in which we live
Cares nothing for nature,
Or life,
As long as there is money in it
The rubbish will be thrown out,
Into the atmosphere it goes,
Enveloped in the hot
Carbon rich air
From their lying mouths,
To destroy our world.
One day there will be nothing there!
Life on earth will have gone!
All because of the rubbish
Both spoken and discarded
Into our world.

Very true Norman but maybe one day we will clear itup/

A good metaphor here for what words we carelessly throw out there. We live in a disposable world where all things are quickly thrown out and discarded apparently relationships as well. A poignant write my friend
Thank you soren, much appreciated.

Always a pleasure Andy
Well written. Your poem expresses a deep concern for the environmental degradation caused by human neglect and consumerism.
Thank you for your kind words Friendship. much appreciated.

Good write, Gold.
Thank you Jerry.

Point well taken, but bigger issues around, Andy. However since time immoral (correct spelling), the rulers (big busines, et al) have been the main providers of pollution, while the little people have followed their excellent example...
Thank you Dave and so very true.
