For Linda

Jerry Reynolds

occasionally
a moment originates
when it all makes sense

Hot, bitter exhaust fumes
from the bus barely missed,
still lingered in the air.
He thrust his arm and finger
out to hitch.
A car came to a halt.
Dry broom straw crackling
beneath his feet.
Opening the chrome door handle,
scorching to the touch
with his handkerchief.
How could he have known?
This was one of those moments
where fate and chance collide
and life changes forever.

Jerry, I love this one. Damn, how often the biggest turns in life begin with something that feels like absolutely nothing at the time. Wonderful write, my friend. ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›

I know, and can you believe that it's five years on Thursday that I was in Venice looking at your favourite bridge? I will remember forever. โค๏ธ โค๏ธ

Life is full of moments when the course of life changes direction. But some moments are bigger than others...

Not doubting the significance of this one, Jerry.

Thanks, Dave. It is for sure.
