FIVE HUNDRED MEN IN BLACK

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

They say it could not
Ever happen again
But 500 black clad
Men in frame
Faces covered
Arms are stretched
Across hearts to beat
In hatreds chest.

No go area
None shall pass
IntimIdation
Yes alas
It takes me back
To Germanys curse
Where to shop
Before it got worse.

Fascism rises
In slow degree
Then its too late
To be free
Politics of hate
Rhetoric charms
Its foot soldiers
Stood in line.

Although the specifics are masked as are the men it sends shivers knowing the dystopia we live in calling it freedom. Have we been so indoctrinated as to believe we are free. A powerful write my friend.

The image became painfully clear in the middle stanza, moving from an initial M.I.B. image in my head and then transitioned not so gradually to the SS and such.

Was just viewing Attenborough's "Wild Isles" series. There was an excellent aerial shot of Dover. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

Norman, I wish this felt like an exaggeration. It doesn’t...not even close. πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›
