Tune: Hanover

('O worship the King')

Psalm 103 v.13-19

**********

Like as a father pities his children

So the Lord pities them that fear Him then

For He knows our frame, remembers we are dust

Yet sees us as we turn to Him and Him trust

As for mankind, their days they as grass be

As flower of field flourishes freely

But wind passes over it and it is gone

And its place shall be remembered by no one

But the mercy of the Lord is from e'er

Unto everlasting, in it we share

To them that fear Him, and His righteousness is

To children's children, they shall prosper in this

To such as do keep His covenant sure

And who remember of His commands pure

To do them, the Lord He has His throne prepared

In the heavens, His kingdom rules, it well-fared

A poem in biblical style that speaks to the shortness or our time. Very nicely written

Orchi, I was singing along quite happily...then Ol’ Tomás arrived with knitted choir robes while Obi-Wan attempted to conduct using a lightsaber. The congregation has scattered...and their leaders are now called diaspora deacons! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

We tend to forget what our good Father is. Nicely done with a beautiful accompaniment. Thanks for that one spellcheck!

Thank you JM. It is human 'father' in first line; and God typed as our heavenly Father. One of my favourite tunes and hymns too.
