Watashiato

Scraps~n~Scribbles

To know that you were more than just a lover is what hurts the most

You might have been so much more

A harmony to a song my soul has sung since it first learned to whisper

I was too young to understand the levels of companionship

Too naive to the ways of navigating and landed fully upon the rocks

I had thought the loss was mine alone

Until tonight

When I thought to look you up

Out of the blue

And saw your reflections still mirror mine

In your digital footprint you left a note

A clue traced back to the day

“Watashiato”

How you broke through the noise and saved my life

Time alone cannot clear the wreckage

Left by actions of our careless youth

Spread beyond the two of us

Yet I feel compelled to speak into the void

And hope you find me here

So I can say I am sorry

Yet happy

My soul sings its best for you
