Do you gaze upon
The candles flame
Or rectify
Or try to blame ?
Each memory
A page in book
Or do you close eyes
Refuse to look ?
When company
Have left for home
Leaving silence
In monotone
A deep breath
From your bosom to rise
Remembering
Those distant times.
Is it with fondness
Or bitterness still
That thought provokes
Or lost the will ?
To tread but softly
Forgiveness bare
Your footstep upon
A lonely stair.

Well, we've lost the will to live waiting on the steps leading to that bus stop. lol.
Tickets please lol
Oh, you are ON an actual bus now? Phew! Doubt it's the No 7 though. lol.
no bus, just an ex conducter going loopy lol
A question set poetically to consider how one sits socially due to one's views and actions and how clearly one sees their effect. Nicely written with good meter and rhyme it flows well and is a fave.
too kind, thanks my friend, much appreciated
Not at all Norman well deserved and it was my pleasure
Right up my alley, this. A Fave!
most generous, thanks and much appreciated my friend
Most welcome, friend ππ»ποΈ
Thereβs a damn quiet loneliness here, with the candle flame, empty house, distant memories, and lonely stair creating the feeling of someone sitting alone with everything theyβve tried not to remember. The final image is the keeper for me, because forgiveness becomes a tentative footstep upward, something fragile you approach slowly rather than something you simply decide to possess.
spot on friend, thanking you always much appreciated
Oh oh ,its really make me wonder ...
thats a good thing to wonder my friend
Beautifully done, Norman...you sent me straight into my own memories with this one. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
