Time slips softly through the hands,
Like grains of golden sand;
No accounting marks the moments gone,
Leaving a balance we can understand.
Each morning brings a purse of light,
Each dusk collects its due;
Spend not your hours on hollow things,
But keep the best for what is true.
For time is wealth no heart can save,
Nor borrow back once spent;
So fill its fleeting, precious time
With love, and leave no regret.
