Tune: Herongate
('It is a thing most wonderful')
1 Peter 2 v.21-25
***************
Christ suffered for us, example
Of His life He left unto all
That we should in His steps follow
And as we grow more of Him know
Who did no sin, neither was guile
Found in His mouth, there no defile
Who, when He as reviled did not
Make reviling His returned lot
When He suffered, did not threaten
Though suffered at the hands of men
But committed Himself unto
He that judges righteous, God true
In His own self, In His body
He bare the sins of you and me
On the cross, that we being dead
To sins, should follow Him our Head
Living now unto righteousness
By His wounds we healed, we confess
As sheep ging astray were we
Now Christ our Shepherd, Bishop* be (*Overseer)

A hymn that seems a surrender to one that sacrificed himself. There is an example of one that forgives trespasses against him. Nicely done Orchi
