The Aftermath

Teddy.15

devastating loss

trees ancient old, ripped from ground

by hands of the wind.

Yesterday I was speaking with my family about the 1986 hurricanes we had in the UK I was only 12, then I realised it's 40 years ago, so I thought I'd try this, I do love haiku and senryu it's such a challenge just 12 syllables thank you dear Norman. 🌹

                Dear, Teddy,

A storm itself can be horrifying but the aftermath can be so saddening to the point of tears. I could never conquer the haiku, what you have done in thirteen words would take me about eight stanzas and many months to describe. So, hats off to you - a perfect haiku.

                Fond regards,

                Tony.

Thank you so much dear Tony, 5/7/5's are one of my favourite forms, hats off to you my friend an 8 stanza poem from you is an incredibly grand lesson to me. 🌹

Oh, Teddy, this is heartbreaking. I've seen what severe storms (internal and external weather) can do, and it never gets easier witnessing that kind of destruction. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thank you my dear Tristan, I saw it 40 years ago in my hometown of London, I was 12 years old. 🌹
